Juventus secured their 15th Coppa Italia trophy with a quick goal from Dusan Vlahovic.

Juventus’ Serbian forward, Dusan Vlahovic, was the hero of the Italian Cup Final as he celebrated with his teammates after scoring the team’s first goal against Atalanta at the Olympic stadium in Rome on May 15, 2024.

Vlahovic wasted no time in making his mark on the game, finding the back of the net just four minutes into the match. He displayed his strength and composure as he held off Isak Hien and finished off a pass from Andrea Cambiaso.

Atalanta struggled to respond without their suspended top scorer, Gianluca Scamacca, and Juventus’ defense held firm throughout the game. Despite late attempts from both sides hitting the woodwork, with Ademola Lookman hitting the post and Fabio Miretti striking the bar, it was Vlahovic who came closest to scoring again. However, his second goal was disallowed for a very tight offside decision.

This victory provided a bright ending to an otherwise disappointing season for Juventus. It may also be the last trophy for their coach, Massimiliano Allegri, who went out with a bang. In a moment of frustration after a stoppage-time red card, Allegri ripped off his jacket and tie in a furious display.

With this win, Juventus extended their record Coppa Italia haul to 15 trophies. On the other hand, Atalanta’s wait for their first since 1963 continues. Atalanta’s coach, Gian Piero Gasperini, will now turn his attention to the Europa League final against Bayer Leverkusen, hoping to finally secure his first career trophy.
