Joao Felix has signed with AC Milan on a loan from Chelsea, with the arrangement lasting until the end of the season, following a transfer in the late January window.
In a significant move during the January transfer window, Joao Felix has officially joined AC Milan on loan from Chelsea for the remainder of the 2024/25 season. The Italian giants will pay a loan fee of £5 million to the Blues, but there is no obligation for Milan to make the deal permanent at the end of the campaign.
The 25-year-old forward has had a mixed spell at Chelsea since his arrival in August 2024, where he signed a lucrative seven-year contract. So far this season, Felix has made 12 appearances for the London club, netting an impressive seven goals. However, his contributions in the Premier League have been limited, with just one goal from three starts, which came during Chelsea’s emphatic 6-2 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers.
This latest loan move marks another chapter in Felix’s career, following temporary stints with Barcelona and Chelsea. The Portuguese international was originally signed by Atletico Madrid in a club-record deal worth £113 million, but he has struggled to find consistent form since then.
As it stands, Chelsea are currently fourth in the Premier League, sitting on 43 points, just two ahead of Manchester City, who have 41, and trailing third-placed Nottingham Forest, who boast 47 points. Meanwhile, AC Milan find themselves in eighth place in Serie A, with 35 points, just two behind Bologna in seventh and four ahead of AS Roma, who are in ninth.
In their announcement regarding Felix’s loan, Chelsea expressed their support for the player, stating: “Joao will now spend the remainder of the 2024/25 campaign at San Siro and we look forward to supporting him during his loan spell. Good luck, Joao!”
As Felix embarks on this new adventure in Italy, fans will be eager to see if he can recapture the form that once made him one of the most sought-after talents in European football.
