Jadon Sancho returns to Manchester United as Leny Yoro shines in his debut during the victory against Rangers, while Tottenham secures a win against QPR.

Jadon Sancho, the talented winger, made his highly anticipated return to Manchester United in a pre-season friendly against Rangers in Scotland. Sancho, who had a falling out with manager Erik ten Hag last season, spent the second half of the campaign on loan at Borussia Dortmund, where he played a crucial role in their journey to the UEFA Champions League final. However, it appears that any previous issues between Sancho and Ten Hag have been resolved, as they held positive talks over the summer.

Sancho wasted no time in getting back into the swing of things, as he started the game against Rangers and played the full 90 minutes. This is a promising sign for United fans, who are eager to see the winger back in action for the upcoming Premier League season.

Another player who caught the eye in the friendly was Leny Yoro, a new signing for Manchester United. Yoro, who joined the club just two days ago, impressed on his debut and looked right at home in the defense alongside Jonny Evans. He made a crucial last-ditch challenge early on to deny Rangers’ striker Cyriel Dessers a clear path to goal, showcasing his defensive abilities. Yoro also showed his composure on the ball, consistently building attacks from the back and completing an impressive 92% of his passes.

In terms of goals, it was Amad Diallo who broke the deadlock for Manchester United just before half-time. The young winger cut inside onto his left foot from the right and curled a brilliant effort into the far post. Joe Hugill, another promising young player, doubled United’s lead in the second half with a thumping finish after being set up by Maxi Oyedele.

Meanwhile, in London, Tottenham Hotspur secured a 2-0 victory over Queen’s Park Rangers. Yves Bissouma opened the scoring with a neat finish after a one-two with Dejan Kulusevski. Dane Scarlett sealed the win for Spurs with a close-range finish, assisted by James Maddison.

Arsenal also kicked off their pre-season plans with a 2-0 win against Leyton Orient. Emile Smith Rowe, who has attracted interest from multiple Premier League clubs, found the back of the net, along with Brazilian striker Gabriel Jesus.

In other pre-season matches, Aston Villa cruised to a 3-0 victory against Spartak Trnava, Brentford secured a 5-2 win over AFC Wimbledon, and West Ham United claimed a 1-0 victory against Dagenham & Redbridge, with Andy Irving scoring the only goal of the game.

Overall, it was an eventful day of pre-season friendlies for English clubs, with players like Sancho, Yoro, Diallo, and Scarlett impressing and getting fans excited for the upcoming season.
