Eberechi Eze is eager to join Tottenham, while Liverpool’s Ibrahima Konate is unhappy with the discussions regarding his contract.
Eberechi Eze is reportedly keen on a move to Tottenham Hotspur, following news that new head coach Thomas Frank has expressed interest in the Crystal Palace star, according to The Sun.
Tottenham have been keeping tabs on Eze for several years and are optimistic that the allure of UEFA Champions League football could entice him to north London. The England international is believed to have a release clause of around £60 million.
Sources suggest that while it is not guaranteed Eze, 26, will leave Selhurst Park this summer, there is a strong possibility that a transfer could materialise. Additionally, there is significant interest in Bryan Mbeumo, a target for Manchester United, who netted 20 Premier League goals under Frank at Brentford last season. However, claims of a bid already being submitted have been downplayed. Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo is also on the radar.
In other news, Ibrahima Konate is reportedly disheartened by the current extension talks with Liverpool, as highlighted by the Guardian.
The defender’s contract is set to expire next summer, raising concerns that he could follow Trent Alexander-Arnold in departing on a free transfer if a swift resolution is not reached. The Guardian notes that Konate’s contract discussions were delayed due to Liverpool’s focus on negotiating with Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk last season. Both players signed new two-year deals in April, which shifted the club’s priority towards re-signing Konate.
The 26-year-old is said to be dissatisfied with the structure of Liverpool’s offer, as his representatives are pushing for a higher base salary, given that the current proposal is heavily reliant on performance-related targets. Liverpool intend to resume discussions with Konate later in the summer but are firm in their stance against overpaying.
Meanwhile, Fulham have entered the fray to sign Oleksandr Zinchenko from Arsenal, as reported by The Sun. The defender could be available for as little as £10 million this summer.
Zinchenko has seen his playing time diminish at Arsenal under Mikel Arteta, but he may not have to travel far to find a new club. Fulham are attracted to the former Manchester City star’s experience and versatility. Manager Marco Silva is eager to push ahead with a deal, and although Arsenal value the player at £12.7 million, the west London club believe they could secure him for around £10 million. Fulham see Zinchenko as a potential asset in both defence and midfield as they aim to build on last season’s impressive performance.
Lastly, Newcastle United are reportedly close to signing 18-year-old South Korean forward Park Seung-soo, according to The i Paper.
With Champions League football on the horizon, Newcastle are in discussions with Burnley regarding goalkeeper James Trafford and remain interested in Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi. However, their sights are also set on the future with Park, who currently plays for second-tier Suwon Bluewings in South Korea.
The 6ft forward has five caps for the Under-20s and has also attracted interest from Wolverhampton Wanderers. Newcastle hope to finalise a deal for Park before their tour of South Korea next month, which would enhance local interest in the tour. They are scheduled to face a K-League All-Stars side at the end of July before taking on Tottenham Hotspur on 3 August. While the deal is not commercially driven, the club has made a concerted effort to enhance their global scouting network over the past year and improve their following in Asia since touring Japan in 2024.
