Chelsea is now focusing on signing Jhon Duran and Nico Williams as they were unable to secure a deal for Michael Olise.
Chelsea have shifted their focus to two new targets after missing out on Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise, who is set to join Bayern Munich. According to the Mirror, the Blues are now eyeing Nico Williams from Athletic Bilbao and Jhon Duran from Aston Villa.
Chelsea had been pursuing a big-money deal for Olise, but ultimately decided that the financial demands were too steep. Bayern Munich have now swooped in and are on the verge of securing a deal worth up to £50 million for the Frenchman. However, Chelsea are still in the market for attacking players and are prioritizing the signings of a new striker and winger.
Interest in Spanish youngster Nico Williams remains strong, with Chelsea willing to meet his release clause of around £50 million. However, there are concerns about his salary and whether the overall package would be financially viable, similar to the situation with Olise.
There is also a possibility of a move for Jhon Duran, following productive talks with Aston Villa. Chelsea are set to complete the signings of 18-year-old attacking midfielder Omari Kellyman for £19 million and the sale of Ian Maatsen for £37.5 million in the coming days.
In other transfer news, Manchester United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka is attracting interest from Turkish side Galatasaray. The 26-year-old full-back will be a free agent next summer, and United are open to selling him for a price tag of £17 million. Galatasaray are reportedly willing to offer him a four-year contract.
Meanwhile, Newcastle United are closing in on a deal to sign Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin. Talks to extend Calvert-Lewin’s contract beyond next season have stalled, and the England forward is likely to join Newcastle and reunite with manager Eddie Howe.
Finally, Real Madrid veteran Nacho is set to make a move to Saudi Arabian club Al Qadsiah. The 34-year-old defender, who is currently at the European Championship with Spain, is out of contract this summer and is expected to sign a minimum two-year deal with the Saudi Pro League side.
