Casemiro, Raphael Varane, and Jadon Sancho have been made available for transfer by Manchester United.
Manchester United is said to be making unexpected moves by putting Casemiro, Raphael Varane, and Jadon Sancho up for sale once the January transfer window commences. Despite being under the management of Erik ten Hag, the Red Devils have had a lackluster season, facing 10 defeats and finding themselves in sixth position in the Premier League, with their chances of progressing in the UEFA Champions League hanging by a thread.
The Mirror reports that United is prepared to adopt a merciless strategy in revamping their team. Recently, the pressure on ten Hag has been extremely high, and even though the victory over Chelsea by 2-1 has brought some relief, the Dutch coach understands that in order to achieve long-term success, it is necessary to make changes to the team’s roster.
According to The Independent, Sir Jim Ratcliffe is on the verge of taking charge of United’s sporting decisions through a £1.3 billion deal for a 25% ownership stake in the club, pending official approval. It is reported that ten Hag intends to make a significant statement by considering offers for well-known players such as Casemiro, Sancho, and Varane. Liverpool is said to be interested in strengthening their defense by focusing on Maxence Lacroix from Wolfsburg. After Joel Matip suffered a serious knee injury that will keep him out for the rest of the season, the Reds are in urgent need of a new defender. Lacroix, who is valued at a minimum of £25 million, has caught their attention, and Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi is also being considered by Jurgen Klopp’s team.
According to The Mirror, Klopp might be compelled to search for a new center-back, and Lacroix seems to be a promising option. The 23-year-old French defender is highly regarded for his authoritative presence and is a regular starter for Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga. Liverpool holds a positive opinion of Guehi, an English player, who is expected to garner interest in the upcoming summer. Although Crystal Palace is not open to selling him in January, both Arsenal and Liverpool are likely to be searching for a new central defender, and Guehi is seen as a highly desired choice.
Arsenal is currently focusing on securing the services of a midfielder in January, and they have targeted Joao Palhinha from Fulham. Initially, the Gunners were linked with Douglas Luiz from Aston Villa, but now they have shifted their attention towards Palhinha as a replacement for Partey. As per The Mirror, Mikel Arteta, the manager of Arsenal, is contemplating recruiting Palhinha, a move that might potentially lead to Thomas Partey’s departure from the Emirates. Arteta has prioritized the addition of a fresh central midfielder, and Palhinha’s displays for Fulham this season have left a positive impression.
Previously, Palhinha was on the verge of departing Fulham when Bayern Munich agreed to a deal worth £55 million. However, the transfer collapsed as Fulham struggled to find a suitable replacement. Bayern’s continued interest persists, but Arsenal has recently joined the competition for Palhinha’s signature. This new development casts uncertainty over Partey’s fate at Arsenal, as he was previously associated with a potential transfer to Juventus last year but ultimately remained loyal to the Gunners.
