Bukayo Saka is sure that Arsenal can defeat Manchester City in the Premier League title showdown following their win against Porto.
Bukayo Saka, the talented Arsenal player, exuded confidence ahead of their upcoming match against Manchester City at the Etihad on March 31. Following their triumph over Porto, which secured their spot in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals, Arsenal now face their Premier League rivals, City.
Saka, who scored a penalty during the shoot-out victory against Porto, expressed his belief in his team’s ability to defeat the defending Premier League champions. Despite only one point separating the two sides at the top of the table, Saka remained optimistic about Arsenal’s chances.
“Yeah, we can,” Saka confidently stated during an interview with TNT Sports. “We can. Right now, we’re top of the league and we’re into the quarter-finals of the Champions League, and we’re going into the international break. So that gives us a lot of momentum, a lot of belief that we can go to the Etihad and get a good result going into these games.”
Arsenal’s triumph over Porto marked their first appearance in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals since 2010. Although Saka admitted that it wasn’t his best personal performance, he expressed his delight at finally getting the opportunity to play in such a prestigious stage of the competition.
“These are the games that I play football for,” Saka told TNT Sports. “The ones I dream of. We’ve worked for years, experiencing disappointment and missing out on the top four, to get here tonight in the Champions League, and now we’re here and we’ve won. So it’s amazing, and I’m looking forward to the next round.”
