The young midfielder played a pivotal role in the two goals that arrived within a mere four minutes. First, his corner kick caused chaos in the Brentford box, leading to Mikel Merino capitalising on Mark Flekken’s failure to clear the danger.

Moments later, Nwaneri’s cross was only partially cleared, allowing Martinelli to unleash a stunning volley that left the Brentford defence reeling.

With this victory, Arsenal leapfrogged Nottingham Forest into second place, solidifying their position as serious title contenders. Meanwhile, Brentford remains in 12th place, comfortably nine points clear of the relegation zone, but will be looking to bounce back in their upcoming fixtures.
