Bournemouth triumphs 2-0 against Arsenal: The Cherries achieve a significant victory over the Gunners following an early red card for William Saliba.

In a disappointing afternoon for Arsenal, William Saliba received the club’s third red card of the Premier League season, as Mikel Arteta’s side succumbed to a 2-0 defeat against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.

The turning point came in the first half when Saliba was sent off after just 30 minutes. The French defender brought down Evanilson, who was racing towards goal following a misplaced back pass from Leandro Trossard. The dismissal left Arsenal with a mountain to climb, and they struggled to regain their composure in the face of adversity.

It wasn’t until the 70th minute that Bournemouth capitalised on their numerical advantage. A well-executed corner routine saw substitute Ryan Christie finish with precision, putting the Cherries ahead and sending the home crowd into raptures.

Arsenal’s woes continued as another careless back pass put them in a precarious position. David Raya, the Gunners’ goalkeeper, was forced to bring down Evanilson in the penalty area after Jacob Kiwior’s underhit ball back to him. The incident led to a penalty, and it was Justin Kluivert, another of Andoni Iraola’s substitutes, who stepped up to coolly convert from the spot, doubling Bournemouth’s lead.

This defeat marks the end of Arsenal’s unbeaten start to the season, a bitter blow for the Gunners who had the opportunity to climb to the top of the Premier League table. Instead, they remain in third place, left to ponder what went wrong on a frustrating afternoon on the south coast.
