Bayern Munich is targeting a move to disrupt Tottenham’s potential transfer deal for Radu Dragusin, while Real Madrid has expressed interest in acquiring a promising Everton youngster, according to a newspaper report.
Bayern Munich are set to disrupt Tottenham’s plans to sign Genoa defender Radu Dragusin, according to reports from the Standard. Spurs had been hoping to secure the centre-back’s signature this week, but the Bundesliga champions are preparing a last-minute bid that could also impact Eric Dier’s potential move to Bayern.
While Dier is said to have agreed personal terms with the German club, their pursuit of Dragusin could alter the situation. Talks between Spurs and Genoa have been ongoing, but the two clubs have yet to agree on a fee, believed to be around £21m to £25m. Bayern have now entered negotiations with Genoa for Dragusin, who is keen on a move to the Premier League. Napoli, Genoa’s Serie A rivals, have also made an offer, but the player is open to joining either Bayern or Spurs this month.
Real Madrid are reportedly keeping an eye on Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite, as per the Daily Mail. The Spanish giants are in search of a new centre-back for the summer and could turn to the 21-year-old, who is also in contention for a call-up to Gareth Southgate’s England squad.
Branthwaite has attracted interest from Manchester United and Tottenham as well, but Real Madrid may have an advantage due to their connection with the player. Real boss Carlo Ancelotti gave Branthwaite his first-team debut while at Everton, and the Italian’s assistant and son, Davide, has also shown support for the young defender. Real Madrid are planning for the recovery of Eder Militao and David Alaba, who are both dealing with anterior cruciate ligament injuries.
Contrary to recent reports, Kylian Mbappe’s entourage has denied any agreement with Real Madrid, according to RMC Sport. While it is true that Mbappe is now free to sign a pre-contract deal with clubs outside of France, there is no concrete agreement in place with the Spanish giants. The Times had previously suggested that Mbappe was unhappy with Real’s offer and was considering a move to the Premier League. However, RMC Sport received information from the player’s entourage stating that discussions about his future have not even begun. Mbappe remains in control of his decision-making process, just as he was two years ago.
Mauricio Pochettino has reportedly held talks with Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher regarding his future at the club, as reported by the Mirror. The 23-year-old could potentially be sold in January due to Financial Fair Play reasons, with Tottenham being long-term admirers. However, Chelsea’s valuation of £50m has deterred Spurs from making a move.
Gallagher, who has 18 months left on his current contract, wants to stay at Stamford Bridge, but the club may decide to cash in as they look to strengthen their squad. Pochettino, who is now in charge at Paris Saint-Germain, rates Gallagher highly and has made him a key part of his plans, despite the uncertainty surrounding his future.
