Barcelona’s winning streak continues as they eliminate Frankfurt in the UEFA Women’s Champions League, while Lyon dominates with a seven-goal victory over St Polten.

Barcelona and Lyon continued their dominant form in the UEFA Women’s Champions League, securing their places in the quarter-finals.

Barcelona maintained their flawless start to the campaign with a 2-0 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt. They have been in exceptional form this season, winning all 21 of their matches across four competitions. Barcelona is now the team to beat in Europe as they aim for their third Champions League crown. Patricia Guijarro opened the scoring for Barcelona with a fantastic strike from outside the box, followed by a goal from Caroline Graham Hansen to seal the victory. Despite their dominant performance, Barcelona failed to add a third goal that would have taken their tally for the season to 100 goals. Frankfurt’s European adventure came to an end with this defeat.

In another thrilling match, Benfica secured the point they needed to progress to the quarter-finals with a 2-2 draw against Rosengard. Olivia Schough gave Rosengard the lead with a brilliant curling effort, but Benfica responded with two quick goals from Jessica Silva and Marie Alidou. Mai Kadowaki scored late in the game to secure Rosengard’s first point in the group.

Lyon thrashed St. Polten 7-0, with Ada Hegerberg scoring twice. Lyon bounced back from dropping their first points of the group stage with a dominant performance against St. Polten. Hegerberg, a former Ballon d’Or winner, opened the scoring and added another goal before half-time. Sara Dabritz and Vanessa Gilles also found the back of the net, ensuring Lyon’s top spot in Group B.

Brann secured their place in the quarter-finals with a 1-0 win over Slavia Prague. Goalkeeper Olivie Lukasova’s own goal ended Slavia Prague’s hopes of progressing, as she failed to keep out a driven cross from Signe Gaupset.

Barcelona and Lyon are now the teams to watch in the Champions League, with their impressive performances and unbeaten records. The quarter-finals promise to be exciting as these two powerhouses continue their quest for European glory.
