Barcelona defeated Getafe 4-0 with goals from Raphinha, Joao Felix, and Frenkie de Jong, as Xavi’s team continues to hold onto their slim chances in La Liga.

Frenkie De Jong and Raphinha were the heroes for FC Barcelona as they celebrated a resounding 4-0 victory over Getafe CF in the LaLiga EA Sports match at Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys on February 24, 2024. The win propelled Barcelona to second place in the league standings.

It was Raphinha who broke the deadlock for Barcelona, displaying great composure as he found the back of the net after 20 minutes. The goal came courtesy of a precise through-ball from Jules Kounde, giving Barcelona a one-goal advantage heading into halftime.

After the break, Xavi Hernandez’s team shifted into top gear, with Joao Felix and Frenkie de Jong adding to the scoreline in the 53rd and 61st minutes respectively. The icing on the cake came in second-half stoppage time when substitute Fermin Lopez capitalized on Vitor Roque’s saved shot, slotting the ball into an empty net.

With this victory, Barcelona now find themselves just five points behind league leaders Real Madrid, although their arch-rivals still have a game in hand. The result will undoubtedly boost Barcelona’s confidence as they continue their pursuit of the La Liga title.
